Ah... just when I had given up on the Wii and grouped it in the "okay to look at, but I'll never get true bliss and enjoyment out of that machine" group, along comes Super Mario Bros. Wii!
Last night our four eyes fixated on the Super Mario box behind the locked glass. That bright red box/artwork immediately took me back to Mario Bros. on NES... and straight to Koupa and trying to defeat him and his lava worlds. Damn. We had to buy it.
I'm in love with this game. It is total fun, kick ass... Nintendo took a bit of all the stuff we loved from the previous Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros games and rolled them up into a perfect breakfast burrito! YANGAZAM! There are a couple new power-ups, AND you can play two player simultaneously as a team!!
We've only just begun, made it through the first world. Can't wait to play the next seven (assuming they continue the 8 worlds per game break down.)
flashback; 4th grade, living in Ft. Sumner, New Mexico. mom was working, my older brother David and I would act like we were going to the bus stop to catch the bus to school, but we would sneak back home for a week straight, missing school to play Mario Bros. on Nintendo. We got caught and had to sell the Nintendo... but it's a great memory...
