Stay Hungry

Whew! 5 nights into this experiance... I'm worn out! This is a marathon man! No rest, pushing forward. More time involved than what I had anticipated.

Last night was round 5 of 'TWO WEEKS WITH ARNOLD'. An adventure to watch, explore, and review 14 Schwarzenegger movies in 14 nights; and to document my feelings toward Arnold during the course of this clinical evaluation.

Why Arnold? Why 14? I'm not an Arnold freak, but I am a fan. My review on Terminator Salvation sparked an interest and curiosity regarding Arnold and a light bulb went off! "TWO WEEKS WITH ARNOLD!!" What an interesting story! Will I have troubles making it two weeks straight? Will I grow sick of Arnold? What will I learn? Time will tell.

Two Weeks With Arnold Night 5
Stay Hungry (1976)

1976. Stay Hungry is the first time Arnold Schwarenegger's voice is ever heard on film, and while his accent is thick, he speaks well. He carries himself well, and doesn't at all seem intimidated or out of his element sharing the screen w/Sally Field and Jeff Bridges. Arnold (29) won a Golden Globe for Best Acting Debut in a Motion Picture for his role as Joe Santo. I've never seen or even heard of Stay Hungry until tonight.

Confusing movie. Deep South, Alabama. A young Arnold (in the prime of his body building career) plays Joe Santo, body builder training to win his 1st Mr. Universe title. Sally Field (30) delivers her first adult performance as Arnold's girlfriend. Jeff Bridges is some sort of real estate guy mixed up with the mafia? and is trying to purchase the gym that Joe Santo works at.

"I don't want to be comfortable, I want to stay hungry." -- Joe Santo.

It was entertaining flick. I am confused though and I want to watch the movie again. Believable/honest acting, couple of sex scenes, many buff body builders, and Arnold working out in a Batman Costume. Sally Field reminds me of a young version of my mom (beautiful) and I would like for Sally Field (young and old) to play my mom in the movie-biography of her life. Arnold is a great actor. Confident. Innocent. Unique. Something special and different.

PS, FREDDY KRUEGER (ROBER ENGLUND) IS IN THE MOVIE!

Simeon gives it 4 stars.
I'd recommend you rent it and watch it twice.
