Kindergarten Cop

I didn't know Kindergarden was spelled 'Kindergarten.'

Last night was round 3 of 'TWO WEEKS WITH ARNOLD'. An adventure to watch, explore, and review 14 Schwarzenegger movies in 14 nights; and to document my feelings toward Arnold during the course of this clinical evaluation.

Why Arnold? Why 14? I'm not an Arnold freak, but I am a fan. My review on Terminator Salvation sparked an interest and curiosity regarding Arnold and a light bulb went off! "TWO WEEKS WITH ARNOLD!!" What an interesting story! Will I have troubles making it two weeks straight? Will I grow sick of Arnold? What will I learn? Time will tell.

Two Weeks With Arnold Night 3
Kindergarten Cop (1990)

Originally I planned to watch each Schwarzenegger movie in chronological order, but many of you suggested/requested Kindergarten Cop, so last night I fired up the ol' VHS machine and threw it in...

I'll be honest, it's been a tough couple of days within the family, so sitting down to type up my thoughts on Kindergarten Cop has been both exciting (previously) and kind of a heavy weight (currently). These feelings are the exact thing I needed to document along this journey. I have a strong desire to share this, thank you for tuning in and experiencing this with me....

8 years after Conan The Barbarian, Arnold's speech is much improved, he's thinner, and older. When I watch the opening scene I see Terminator, I see Total Recall, Last Action Hero... a character that is familiar and different than Conan. 1990's, trench coat, big guns... a bad ass. A bad ass that goes undercover.

I'm having a hard time focusing. I'm having a hard time keeping my thoughts straight, my mind is all this way and that... hard to focus on this movie when so much is going on around me with the ones I love.

Arnold goes undercover as Detective John Kimble to hunt down a menacing crime lord. Well, guess what... sometimes when you go undercover you gotta interview 5 and 6 year old kids who are cute, innocent, happy, energeic, loveable and full of fun. sometimes when you go deep undercover you gotta have the most fun of your entire life.

Kindergarten Cop is a homerun. It's enjoyable to see Arnold in a comedy, I think he's a good actor. I find myself rating Conan 1&2 higher because of this movie, because I know where he came from and where he went. I understand more his story.

Simeon gives it 5 thumbs up. up, JUNIOR. see ya tomorow night.
