Que up the rocky theme music!!!

Last night was round ELEVEN!! of 'TWO WEEKS WITH ARNOLD'. An adventure to watch, explore, and review 14 Schwarzenegger movies in 14 nights; and to document my feelings toward Arnold during the course of this clinical evaluation.

Why Arnold? Why 14? I'm not an Arnold freak, but I am a fan. My review on Terminator Salvation sparked an interest and curiosity regarding Arnold and a light bulb went off! "TWO WEEKS WITH ARNOLD!!" What an interesting story! Will I have trouble making it two weeks straight? Will I grow sick of Arnold? What will I learn? Time will tell.

Two Weeks With Arnold Night 11
Predator (1987)

PREDATOR!!! I know a lot of us have been excited for this one! Predator was originally written as the follow up to Commando, but Arnold refused to be part of any sequel; so they rewrote the script and turned it into Predator. Die Hard was also originally written as a follow up to Commando, but Arnold again refused and turned down the rewritten script as well.

A futuristic alien solider with cloaking abilities and rocket launchers hunts down and slaughters elite mercenary warriors in the jungles of Central America. Bloody skinless humans hang by their ankles dripping their life onto the forest floor below. A stalking killer that is rarely seen. Skinning... processing... gutting... intestines strewn about. The predator boils and shines the skulls of his victims and keeps them as trophies.

Predator is hyper-realistic, raw and guttural. It feels like we are actually watching war and people are actually dying... fear. It's not the "pretend/fantasy death" and overproduced fight scenes we saw in Commando. An action thriller in the vein of Rambo meets Jaws. A point blank gun shot through a mans head... it shows the entire thing, brains splattered against the wall.

I appreciate the seriousness and the quality of Predator.
I imagine this movie to be the mecca of all action movies.
However, the final few minutes of movie kinda lost my attention.
simeon gives it 4.5 stars ...
